Almond-shaped with a hooked tip and a glossy, deep aubergine-black skin. The flesh is firm and juicy, fruity and lightly salted, with the faint bitterness that marks the variety. Picked by hand once the fruit is fully ripe, then fermented in brine with no lye and no additives.
